7 Fiery K-Pop Songs That Bring The Heat

If there is one metaphor that K-pop stars absolutely love, it’s that of fire. Whether they’re singing of burning up the stage with their fiery passion or setting the past alight, you can be sure that your favorite groups have incorporated it into their music at one point or another. Here are seven K-pop songs that really turn up the heat!

1. SEVENTEEN – “HOT”

Kicking us off is SEVENTEEN’s “HOT” from their “Face The Sun” album earlier this year, and boy, do they bring the fire! From its fiesty music video, complete with incandescent fireworks and the scorching desert sun, to its relentless siren-like electronic chirps, this song is sure to have you instinctively fanning yourself even on the coldest of days!

2. BTS – “FIRE”

If there is one song that has been burned into the consciousness of every K-pop fan, it’s BTS’s “FIRE.” Their roaring chant of “fire” throughout the track swallows everything in its path as if engulfing the world in flames as BTS sets stages ablaze with their iconic choreography. If you’re looking for a song that makes you feel unstoppable, this one is it.

3. (G)I-DLE – “HWAA”

On a more mellow (but every bit as searing) note, (G)I-DLE’s “HWAA” (which has the dual meaning of both “fire” and “flower”) is a brilliant, smoldering track about razing the painful past to the ground. A captivating slow-burn builds throughout the atmospheric “HWAA,” occasionally bursting to life and perfectly capturing the destructive yet regenerative power of fire.

4. BLACKPINK – “PLAYING WITH FIRE”

In “PLAYING WITH FIRE,” BLACKPINK fans the uncontrollable flames of love, likening a risky romance to a mesmerizing fire they can’t seem to take their eyes off of. Their worlds burst into flames in the song’s stunning music video, encapsulating how love, just like fire, can be as captivating as it is dangerous. I guess when everything is aflame, all the red flags just look like flags?

5. BTS’s J-Hope – “Arson”

The usually bright J-Hope shines in a completely different way in his solo track “Arson,” its unnervingly minimal instrumentation bringing a more dark and sinister side of his typically sunny persona to light. “Let’s burn, burn, burn, burn, burn,” he raps in a menacing, rumbling tone that slowly becomes more urgent with a sense of silent yet unstoppable rage. J-Hope’s “Arson” is the perfect soundtrack for those days where you just feel consumed by fiery angst.

6. ASTRO – “Blue Flame”

ASTRO take on a darker, more passionate sound with “Blue Flame,” borrowing from the likes of fiery Latin pop in its verses. Another more slow-burn track, this song is perfect for lighting up even the darkest of nights, if not with its lyrics then with the group’s sensual vocal delivery.

7. 2NE1 – “FIRE”

Who could forget the OG “FIRE” by 2NE1? Straight from one of the most fiery K-pop girl groups of all time, this infectious dance track is sure to set the roof on fire at any dance party. From its siren-like vocals to addictive chants of “eh eh eh eh eh eh eh, 2NE1,” you’ll find yourself singing and dancing to this iconic debut single in no time at all!
