(G)I-DLE's "Nxde" Enters At No. 1; Soompi's K-Pop Music Chart 2022, October Week 5
There are many changes in the top 10 of this week’s Soompi Music Chart!
(G)I-DLE’s “Nxde” debuts at No. 1, making this the group’s second chart-topping hit this year. Congratulations to (G)I-DLE!
“Nxde” is the title song from (G)I-DLE’s fifth mini-album “I love.” “Nxde” is an alternative pop genre song that borrows the melody of “Habanera” from the opera “Carmen.” The lyrics convey the meaning of showing their “real selves” going forward even if it means no longer receiving love from the people.
Debuting close behind at No. 2 is rookie group LE SERRAFIM’s “ANTIFRAGILE,” the title track from from their second mini album of the same name. The song features empowering lyrics about growing stronger as a result of facing tough times.
Rounding out the top three is IVE’s former No. 1 song “After LIKE,” dropping one spot to No. 3.
Two more songs newly entered the top 10 this week.
Debuting at No. 4 is NewJeans’ “Hype boy.” One of the title tracks from the group’s first EP “New Jeans” released in August, the song overtakes “Attention” as the girl group’s highest ranking song for the first time in three months.
Moving up three spots to No. 8 is Younha’s “Event Horizon,” the title track from her sixth album repackage “END THEORY : Final Edition.” Although the song was released in March, her recent performances of the song at university festivals has caused it to go viral and resurge in popularity.
