GFRIEND Gathers To Celebrate Their 8th Debut Anniversary
GFRIEND recently reunited to celebrate their 8th debut anniversary!
On January 16, all six members of GFRIEND shared photos of their recent get together. Kim Sowon shared two group photos with the caption “Gfriend 8th,” before adding in the comments, “with buddy,” making sure to include GFRIEND’s official fan club. On her Stories, Sowon added a hilariously chaotic group picture and wrote, “We don’t have a single normal picture…[this is] really our best.”

Yerin uploaded two photos of the group’s anniversary cake with the captions “8 years old” and “G F R I E N D.” She also shared the same group photo as Sowon, which features every member wearing all black except for Yerin. Joking about the miscommunication, Yerin wrote in the caption, “Failed dress code…lol (sorry).”
Her members then took the opportunity to tease her, with Eunha commenting, “Omok fail,” referring to the game Omok, also called Five in a Row, where you have to line up five stones of one color to win. Sowon added, “Let’s read the room, whitey,” while SinB joked, “Sigh, you crossed a line [wearing] white by yourself.” Yuju added simply, “Really lol.”

Eunha, Yuju, SinB, and Umji all shared the same group photo with short and sweet captions. Eunha used a heart face emoji while Yuju shared, “GFRIEND, happy birthday.” SinB and Umji both cutely wrote, “8 years old.”

GFRIEND made their debut on January 16, 2015 with “Glass Bead.” Throughout their career, the group released numerous hits like “Me Gustas Tu,” “Rough,” “Love Whisper,” “NAVILLERA,” “FINGERTIP,” “MAGO,” and more. After six years, GFRIEND parted ways with their agency Source Music in May 2021.
Yuju and Yerin are currently promoting as solo artists while Kim Sowon has kicked off her acting career. Eunha, SinB, and Umji have re-debuted as the trio VIVIZ and are set to make a comeback at the end of the month with their third mini album “VarioUS.”
