Watch: Kim Min Kyu Is Determined To Succeed As An Idol Despite Threats From His Former Life As High Priest In "The Heavenly Idol" Teaser

Kim Min Kyu is stuck in a battle against himself in the new “The Heavenly Idol” teaser!

Based on a popular webtoon and web novel, tvN’s “The Heavenly Idol” is an upcoming fantasy drama starring Kim Min Kyu as High Priest Rembrary, who suddenly wakes up one day to find himself in the body of Woo Yeon Woo, a member of the unsuccessful idol group Wild Animal.

The newly released third teaser for “The Heavenly Idol” previews the funny struggle between High Priest Rembrary and idol Woo Yeon Woo who have mysteriously switched bodies. Calmly, High Priest Rembrary suggests they return to their original selves, but Woo Yeon Woo quickly denies him.

With Woo Yeon Woo choosing to remain as a priest, High Priest Rembrary has no choice but to adjust to his new life as an unsuccessful idol if he wants to survive. He does so with the help of Kim Dal (Go Bo Gyeol), Woo Yeon Woo’s No. 1 fan who becomes Wild Animal’s manager.

However, this proves to be quite the task as High Priest Rembrary struggles to pick up the group’s choreography, awkwardly stands on stage mid-performance, and shocks with his awful attempt at acting. To top it all off, High Priest Rembrary is appalled to see the salad the group is given to eat, even wondering if they’ve mistakenly been given bird feed.

With some time, High Priest Rembrary starts getting the hang of his new career and confidently expresses his determination to succeed. He accepts his unexpected fate, commenting, “Surely being an idol is my path,” while Kim Dal and their agency employees proudly cheer him on.

The end of the clip features Lee Jang Woo’s first appearance as Shin Jo Woon, who is possessed by the King of Darkness. He mysteriously threatens with a smirk, “Let’s have fun in this world too.” His eyes gleam red while shots of the shocked High Priest flash by, raising questions about their connection.
