Kim Hee Ae And Sol Kyung Gu Confirmed To Star In New Political Thriller Drama
New Netflix series “The Whirlwind” (working title) has confirmed the casting of Kim Hee Ae and Sol Kyung Gu!
“The Whirlwind” is a new political thriller drama depicting the story of the confrontation between a prime minister who wants to root out corrupt power and a deputy prime minister of economy who opposes him.
Sol Kyung Gu will take on the role of Prime Minister Park Dong Ho, who wants to judge the president who colluded with chaebol and change the political scene. Sol Kyung Gu is an experienced actor with strong charisma and profound acting skills. Ahead of the release of Sol Kyung Gu’s film “Kil Boksoon,” his appearance in a drama for the first time in decades captures viewers’ attention, raising anticipation for his new acting transformation.
Kim Hee Ae, who also awaits the release of her other Netflix drama “Queenmaker,” will play the role of Deputy Prime Minister of Economy Jeong Soo Jin who reached the pinnacle of politics on her own with her intelligence and strong convictions. She is a person who takes on a fierce political battle to stand up to Park Dong Ho.
Scriptwriter Park Kyung Soo, who introduced the “political power” trilogy of “The Chaser,” “Empire of Gold,” and “Punch,” and director Kim Yong Wan, who helmed the award-winning web drama “Love Cells” as well as other diverse projects including “Champion,” “The Cursed,” and “The Cursed: Dead Man’s Prey,” will work together.
