HYBE Shares Brief Response To Allegations Of BTS's J-Hope Receiving Preferential Treatment During Enlistment

HYBE has briefly responded to allegations that BTS’s J-Hope received preferential treatment on the day of his military enlistment.

Earlier this week, on April 18, J-Hope enlisted in the military at the 36th Infantry Division recruit training center in the city of Wonju.

On April 21, Newsis reported that all of the recruits enlisting that day were only allowed to enter with one car each, as was clearly stated in the large LED sign over the entrance. Additionally, recruits’ cars were only allowed to enter the guarded area after showing the guards their enlistment notice.

However, according to Newsis’s report, six HYBE vans were seen entering the guarded area, with five of them entering at one time and one car at another, suggesting that exceptions may have been made for J-Hope regarding both rules.

That same morning, HYBE responded to the report by stating, “We are currently in the midst of checking [the truth of the report].” The agency added, “We will make a statement after checking.”
