YG's BABYMONSTER Breaks YouTube Record For Fastest K-Pop Girl Group To Surpass 2 Million Subscribers

Even before their debut, YG Entertainment’s upcoming girl group BABYMONSTER has already set a new YouTube record!

On May 7, YG Entertainment announced that at 3:12 p.m. KST the day before, their new girl group BABYMONSTER had surpassed 2 million subscribers on their official YouTube channel.

As BABYMONSTER first launched the channel on December 28 of last year, it took the group just 129 days to reach the milestone—making them the fastest K-pop girl group ever to hit 2 million subscribers on YouTube.

The feat is all the more impressive considering that BABYMONSTER has not yet debuted—or even confirmed its final lineup of members. While seven trainees have been revealed to the public as candidates to debut as members of BABYMONSTER, YG Entertainment founder Yang Hyun Suk previously shared that he planned to eliminate at least one trainee and that he’d initially envisioned BABYMONSTER as a five-member group, making it unclear whether all seven girls will debut together.

YG Entertainment will reveal the final member lineup for BABYMONSTER on May 12 at midnight KST.

In the meantime, congratulations to the group on their new record!
