Winners Of 2023 Korea Popular Culture And Arts Awards
The Korean Popular Culture and Arts Awards celebrated the achievements of many artists at this year’s annual ceremony!
The Korean Popular Culture and Arts Awards are government prizes that recognize the work of artists in various fields who have contributed to the development of popular culture. This year’s awards ceremony was held on October 21 at the Haeoreum Grand Theater.
The ceremony was hosted by Jang Ye Won and Jang Dong Yoon, and congratulatory performances were give by various artists including Monika and her dance crew PROWDMON, 10CM, Chuu, and MeloMance.
In total, six artists received an Order of Cultural Merit, seven artists (including groups) received Presidential Commendations, eight artists (including groups) received Prime Minister’s Commendations, and 10 artists (including groups) received Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s Commendations. Notably, singer Lee Mi Ja is the first pop musician to receive the Geumgwan Order of Cultural Merit, the highest Order of Cultural Merit.
