Lee Do Hyun Makes Bold Transformation For Shaman Role In Upcoming Film

Upcoming film “Exhuma” has shared a sneak peek at Lee Do Hyun!

“Exhuma” is an occult mystery film that unravels bizarre events involving a feng shui master, a mortician, and two shamans as they relocate mysterious graves in exchange for a hefty sum of money.

Lee Do Hyun, who previously impressed in “Prison Playbook,” “Youth of May,” “The Good Bad Mother,” “The Glory,” “Sweet Home,” and more, plays Bong Gil, a shaman who is skilled in incantations. In his debut project “Prison Playbook,” Lee Do Hyun played a high school baseball player, and in his highly-anticipated screen debut, Lee Do Hyun will portray a character who was once a baseball player that quits to become a shaman.

Bong Gil is a rookie shaman that works with Hwa Rim (Kim Go Eun) who saves him from the illness that strikes people before they become shamans. The newly released stills capture Lee Do Hyun’s drastic transformation, showcasing his tattoos and depicting him chanting scriptures.

Director Jang Jae Hyun shared, “I would say he is 180 percent in sync with Bong Gil. His modern looks and charisma fit well with Bong Gil to create good synergy.” He continued, “Actor Lee Do Hyun has great skills, completing extremely difficult scenes purely with the skills of an actor.”

“Exhuma,” which has been invited to the 74th Berlin International Film Festival, is set to hit theaters on February 22. Check out a trailer here!
