tvN’s “Queen of Tears” is off to a promising start!

On March 9, the new romance drama starring Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won premiered to higher viewership ratings than its predecessor “Captivating the King” (the drama that previously occupied its time slot).

According to Nielsen Korea, the first episode of “Queen of Tears” scored an average nationwide rating of 5.9 percent. (For comparison, “Captivating the King” premiered to a nationwide average of 4.0 percent back in January.)

Meanwhile, MBC’s new drama “Wonderful World” fell to an average nationwide rating of 6.4 percent for its fourth episode.

SBS’s “Flex x Cop,” which airs in the same time slot as “Wonderful World,” shot back up into the double digits ahead of the final two weeks of its run. The latest episode of the drama earned an average nationwide rating of 10.1 percent.

KBS 2TV’s “Korea-Khitan War,” which has just one episode left to go, stayed strong with an average nationwide rating of 12.0 percent ahead of its series finale.

JTBC’s “Doctor Slump” dipped to an average nationwide rating of 5.3 percent for the night, while KBS 2TV’s “Live Your Own Life” continued its reign as the most-watched show of Saturday with a nationwide average of 19.3 percent.
