INFINITE's Kim Myung Soo (L) Dishes On The Group's 15th-Anniversary Tour, Their Greatest Strength, And More
INFINITE’s Kim Myung Soo (L) recently sat down with Arena Homme Plus for a pictorial and interview!
Since December of last year, INFINITE has traveled across Asia for their 15th-anniversary concert tour “LIMITED EDITION,” which is set to wrap up with two encore concerts at Incheon’s INSPIRE Arena on April 12 and 13.
In the interview that followed his photo shoot, Kim Myung Soo remarked, “The title of this concert tour was ‘LIMITED EDITION,’ which literally means ‘limited edition.’ Since it was a concert prepared for our 15th anniversary, we wanted to create something exclusive to this show. We prepared special performances of ‘AIR’ and ‘Pray,’ which many fans had been eager to see. Each member also prepared solo performances.”
Kim Myung Soo completed his military service in the Marine Corps’ 1st Division and was discharged as a member of the 1267th class. When asked how his military experience has influenced his current work, he shared, “Living closely with so many different people taught me a lot about dealing with others. The military operates on a hierarchical system, so it’s an environment where you naturally learn patience. I also gained a strong sense of camaraderie. I still keep in touch with my fellow soldiers, both seniors and juniors. I believe the military instills a unique kind of confidence and perseverance.”
Kim Myung Soo also spoke about what he believes to be INFINITE’s greatest strength. He remarked, “There’s a certain tenacity unique to 2.5-generation idols. This is true now as well, but when we debuted in 2010, it was an especially fiercely competitive era for idols. People say, ‘Just the fact that you survived means you’re strong.’ Since we faced intense competition from the start, I believe survival instincts are ingrained in us. Not just INFINITE, but all 2.5-generation idols possess a unique energy and determination that sets us apart.”
Kim Myung Soo’s full pictorial and interview can be found in the April issue of Arena Homme Plus.
