Joo Hyun Young And Kim Young Dae To Make Special Appearances In “I Am A Running Mate”
TVING’s original drama “I Am a Running Mate” has further heightened anticipation for its premiere!
On June 5, the production team of “I Am a Running Mate” revealed that actors Joo Hyun Young and Kim Young Dae will make special appearances in the drama. They will play crucial roles as variables that introduce twists at just the right moments in the unpredictable student council election—where you must go crazy to win, and winning makes you the real deal.
“I Am a Running Mate” is a teen political drama that follows Noh Se Hoon (Yoon Hyun Soo), a student who becomes a laughingstock of his school after an unfortunate incident. However, his life takes a sharp turn when he’s suddenly nominated as a candidate for vice president in the student council election. Thrust into a whirlwind of cutthroat strategies and power plays, Noh Se Hoon is determined to reclaim his dignity and seize victory.
The drama is receiving strong attention as it marks the directorial debut of Han Jin Won, who won an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay as a co-writer of “Parasite.” The fact that it’s a teen political drama from TVING—which successfully produced other hit dramas with school settings such as “Duty After School,” “Pyramid Game,” and “Study Group,” also draws significant interest.
Furthermore, viewers are looking forward to the performances of talented and charismatic rising stars like Yoon Hyun Soo, Lee Jung Sic, Choi Woo Sung, Hong Hwa Yeon, Lee Bong Joon, and Kim Ji Woo, who portray youth whose lives change completely after entering the student council election.
