Choi Gwi Hwa Is A Power-Hungry Two-Faced Prince In “Bon Appétit, Your Majesty"
tvN’s upcoming drama “Bon Appétit, Your Majesty” has unveiled the first stills of Choi Gwi Hwa in character!
Based on a popular web novel, “Bon Appétit, Your Majesty” is a fantasy romance drama starring Lim YoonA as Yeon Ji Young, an award-winning French chef who winds up traveling 500 years back into the past. There, she meets despotic king Lee Heon (Lee Chae Min), who is known as the worst of tyrants—and who also happens to be a discerning gourmet.
Choi Gwi Hwa plays Grand Prince Jesan, the late king’s half-brother and uncle to the current king, Lee Heon. Despite holding the powerful position of head of the Royal Kitchen—overseeing the ingredients used in the king’s meals—Jesan is rarely seen in the palace, spending his days indulging in wine and women. Though he carries a royal title, his scandalous lifestyle is so notorious that even other royals and court officials view him with disdain.
Outwardly, Jesan appears cheerful and carefree, flashing a hearty smile as he strolls through the capital. But beneath that facade lies a cold-blooded man capable of unspeakable cruelty. With his every move shrouded in uncertainty, he’s a ticking time bomb at the heart of the palace.
The newly released stills hint at the dual nature of Jesan, a key player in the palace power struggle. While he hides behind a jovial facade, the mask slips when he’s in his own territory—revealing a far more menacing side. What is the real face of Grand Prince Jesan, and what does he truly want?
“Bon Appétit, Your Majesty” will premiere on August 23 at 9:10 p.m. KST.
