Kang Mina, Sung Yoo Bin, And Ahn Ji Hye Channel Dog, Rat, And Horse Energies As Zodiac Angels In “Twelve”

Upcoming superhero drama “Twelve” has released new posters and stills of Kang Mina, Sung Yoo Bin, and Ahn Ji Hye!

Inspired by the 12 zodiac animals of the East, “Twelve” tells the story of 12 angels living in the human world in human form to protect the Korean Peninsula from evil spirits. Long ago, the angels barely managed to seal the forces of evil in the gates of hell through their sacrifice, bringing peace. However, with the evil spirits awakening, chaos returns.

Kang Mina plays Gang Ji, the dog zodiac angel known for her fierce loyalty, tenacity, and impressive combat skills hidden behind her adorable appearance. Deeply compassionate and more devoted to humans than anyone else, Gang Ji never lets go of her will to protect them.

Kang Mina shared, “Since dogs are animals that live closest to humans, I tried to focus on understanding and empathizing with human emotions and emphasized Gang Ji’s emotional connection with both humans and the other angels.” Marking her first foray into the action genre, she added, “I wanted my action scenes to feel like a hunting dog in motion. I did my best to avoid anything awkward or unconvincing.”

Sung Yoo Bin takes on the role of Jwi Dol, the rat zodiac angel and the team’s indispensable technician. A genius inventor, Jwi Dol creates tools and weapons that support the other angels, playing a vital role as the team’s brain.

Reflecting on his approach, Sung Yoo Bin said, “I focused on syncing with the other angels to create a believable team dynamic.” Regarding his action scenes, he added, “In collaboration with the stunt team, we designed agile, rat-like movements unique to Jwi Dol.”

Ahn Ji Hye transforms into Mal Sook—the horse zodiac angel known for her strength, speed, and relentless spirit. Mal Sook dazzles with explosive action and a bold, never-give-up attitude.

Ahn Ji Hye shared, “I was captivated by ‘Twelve’ fresh reinterpretation of traditional Eastern elements into a modern fantasy.” On preparing for her action scenes, she said, “Like a horse, I aimed to portray unyielding and upbeat energy, but also a fierce wildness when facing evil. I focused on making those contrasts feel natural and convincing.”

“Twelve” will premiere on August 23.
