Gong Yoo and Lim Soo Jung Appear at "Finding Mr. Destiny" Press Conference

Gong Yoo and Lim Soo Jung, who will be starring together in the upcoming romantic comedy “Finding Mr. Destiny”, appeared at the movie’s press conference at the CJ CGV movie theater in Seoul on November 11.  The movie, which is scheduled to open on December 9, revolves around a young woman named Seo Ji Woo (played by Lim Soo Jung) who hires the services of Han Gi Joon (played by Gong Yoo) to help her find her long-lost first love.  The story is based on a popular musical written and produced by Jang Yoo Jung, who also directed the movie. 

Gong Yoo and Lim Soo Jung cut a striking figure during the press conference, showing up in complementary shades of gray, black, and white.  Jang Yoo Jung explained that she cast Gong Yoo as the male lead because he reminded her of Hugh Grant.  “Gong Yoo is the kind of actor that is a good person and professional while playful at the same time. So I thought he would be able to take on the role that is both serious and comical which most actors aren’t able to do, sort of like the image of Hugh Grant, a romantic guy who can touch people’s hearts while not taking things so far that he will ruin his image.” 

Jang went on to say that the shoots went very smoothly — except for the kissing scenes.  “There were many bloopers when it came to those scenes since there was no romantic feeling between the two,” she explained.  Gong Yoo admitted that he had felt uncomfortable filming the romantic scenes.
