2PM Takes Top Spot on Japanese Oricon Chart with Debut DVD

After spending its first day of release on the second spot of the Oricon DVD chart, 2PM’s first Japanese DVD has risen to the top.

The DVD, titled “Hottest~2PM 1st Music Video Collection & The History~” was released in stores less than two days ago.  It now ranks number one on the daily Oricon DVD chart.  The DVD features a collection of music videos of their hit songs and never-before-seen footage.

In a statement, the 2PM members expressed their gratitude.  “It’s unbelievable that we actually came in first place on the Oricon chart. We are extremely happy and thankful.”  They added that they will work harder in the future to keep their fans happy.

The 2PM boys are already hard at work in Japan with plenty of promotional events.  In addition to holding a preview showcase for the DVD, they are preparing for their first performance showcase in Japan, which is to be held at the Kokugikan, on December 8, also the release date of their Japanese album “1:59PM”.  They have also collaborated with Manduka Cafe in Shinjuku to open a temporary 2PM cafe.
