2NE1 to Debut in Japan in February, Release Korean Album Afterward

2NE1’s next step to world domination: Japan.  The girl group plans to debut there in February under the AVEX label.  YG’s CEO Yang Hyun Suk announced on the official YG site that 2NE1 will do promotions in Japan from February to March.  They will return to Korea afterwards to prepare for their new album, which they hope to release in May or June.  Yang stated that 2NE1’s original Japan debut date last year was postponed in order to focus on their career in Korea.

Regarding the rumors of 2NE1 expanding their career to the United States, Yang said that an exact date has yet to be set.  The girls are scheduled to work with Black Eyed Peas frontman Will.I.Am, but he has been busy producing his group’s next album.  The girls have already recorded ten songs with Will.I.Am.
