KBS to Produce Idol Version of “Survival: I am a Singer”

Many are pumped about the news that KBS will be producing an idol version of MBC’s “Survival: I am a Singer”! KBS stated that it will be airing a new segment titled “Immortal Music Classics 2” by the end of this month where idol group singers compete against each other through individual performances.

There will be around five to eight contestants from various idol groups. So far, the confirmed contestants are 2PM’s Junsu, Sistar’s Hyorin, SHINee’s Jong Hyun, 2AM’s Changmin, and B2ST’s Yang Yo Seob. The contestants will be singing various genres of all-time hits in their own unique style and voice tone.

KBS’s “Immortal Music Classics 2” might appear to share a similar format with MBC’s “Survival: I am a Singer” from the aspect that both programs have combined musical performances from singers and variety shows. In “Immortal Music Classics 2,” the appearance is restricted to only idol singers. Also, unlike Survival: I am a Singer,” “Immortal Music Classics 2” will proceed without the dropout selection process and will only award one winner.

Netizens have commented, “I think this show will be able to change the perception that idols are all about looks,” “the competition among the idols will be tough,” “I can’t wait,” “please show that idols also have vocal skills.”

It looks like this show is going to be a great opportunity for idols to demonstrate their true vocal talents through individual performances! Yay, can’t wait to see all the new live performances. It’s gonna be great!
