[Scene Recap] “Miss Ripley”: Park Yoo Chun Finds Out Everything about Lee Da Hae’s Past

***SPOILER ALERT***

Oh no, Song Yoo Hyun (Park Yoo Chun) found out about Jang Mi Ri’s (Lee Da Hae) complicated and shady past! On July 11th’s episode of MBC’s “Miss Ripley,” Hiriyama (Kim Jung Tae) handed Song Yoo Hyun Jang Mi Ri’s past business card from when she used to work as a hostess in a pub.

Song Yoo Hyun found out about how Jang Mi Ri flew over to Japan after being abandoned by her foster parents and worked as a hostess in a pub. He was extremely shocked by the fact that everything that Jang Mi Ri had shown him up till now turned out to be a complete lie. It was also difficult for him to accept the fact that she used to be a hostess.

Despite his initial shock from discovering all of her secrets, Song Yoo Hyun tried his best to understand her for leading a life that she didn’t want to pursue as he was still in love with her. He even felt sympathy for Jang Mi Ri, who continued to hide and deny her true self.

However, at the same time, he was disappointed in her. He was hurt by her betrayal, as he expressed “Who the heck am I. Is this even something that someone can possibly do to a person she loves. The main thing that’s giving me a hard time is the fact that Mi Ri deceived me.”

Ultimately, Song Yoo Hyun ended up postponing the engagement. However, it wasn’t a sign of a break up. He stated, “I think it’s a stretch for me to get engaged in this situation. I will wait until you candidly acknowledge your true self and come out to the world again. If that isn’t the case… I’m sorry,” and gave Jang Mi Ri the option to make the decision.

Meanwhile, “Miss Ripley” won back first place with viewer ratings of 14.2% due to the end of KBS’s “Baby-Faced Beauty” which is being  followed up by “Spy Myeong Wol.” The follow up is off to a weak start with 9.6%, while “Warrior Baek Dong Soo” received a solid 12.7%.
