[Scene Recap] “Miss Ripley”: Park Yoo Chun Meets Young Jang Mi Ri and Sheds Tears

On yesterday’s episode of MBC’s “Miss Ripley,” Song Yoo Hyun (Park Yoo Chun), who found out about Jang Mi Ri’s (Lee Da Hae) problematic past, called off the engagement.

Yoo Hyun was in utter shock to find out that his step mom Lee Hwa (Choi Myung Gil) happened to be Mi Ri’s biological mom. Also, he was alarmed by the fact that Lee Hwa had changed her name and abandoned her daughter in order to get remarried to his father Song In Soo (Jang Yong). Lee Hwa did so because his grandmother claimed that her new daughter-in-law was not allowed to have any children.

Suffering from the guilt that Mi Ri had been abandoned alone due to his actions, Yoo Hyun visited the house that Mi Ri used to live in when she was young. And at the house, he met up with the young Mi Ri who was abandoned by her mom.

He went up to young Mi Ri and asked “Did you miss your mom a lot up until now? It’s been a rough time for you, hasn’t it?” Park Yoo Chun shed tears, heart-broken for Mi Ri as he claimed “What should I do about Mi Ri. How will I be forgiven for what I have done to her so far.”

However, young Mi Ri replied while flashing a bright smile, “It’s not your fault. I can just meet my mom. When my mom returns, everything will change. Then I’ll start studying again, go to school, and I won’t have to go to the orphanage again.” She comforted him by saying, “Don’t cry. You seem like a great person.” However, Yoo Chun couldn’t stop shedding tears while thinking about poor Mi Ri.

Meanwhile, Mi Ri has been called in by the prosecution for forging documents and is on the verge of collapsing due to her past. As the fact that she was a pub hostess was revealed to the public, Mi Ri decided to leave Yoo Hyun.

“Miss Ripley” continued to take the lead by hitting a new high, recording viewer ratings of 16.5%. “Spy Myeong Wol” recorded 8.3%, while “Warrior Baek Dong Soo” also recorded a new high with a solid 13.7%.
