Gong Yoo Is a Crusader for Justice in "The Crucible"
Gong Yoo turns dramatic and serious for the upcoming film “The Crucible.” The actor, most recently of the romantic comedy film “Finding Mr. Destiny” and best known for his star-making turn as the conflicted coffee shop owner in “Coffee Prince,” transforms into a crusader for deaf children in his latest project.
“The Crucible” is based on the true story of a newly appointed teacher, Kang In Ho (Gong) in a school for the deaf in Gwangju, who reveals the secret violence and tragedy in the lives of his students. The case went on from 2000-2005, documented into a novel by writer Gong Ji Yong.
Jung Yumi co-stars, while Kim Hyun Soo, Jung In Seo and Baek Seung Hwan as deaf students complete the cast.
“The Crucible” opens on September 22.
