Big Bang and 2NE1 on Top 5 of Oricon Weekly Chart

Upon the release of their new albums in Japan, YG Entertainment’s Big Bang and 2NE1 topped the Oricon weekly chart.

In its first week, Big Bang’s album, “Alive,” sold 52, 987 units and placed third on the charts.  Keeping it in the family, 2NE1 also made the top five with their newly released album, “Collection,” which sold 22, 224 units. “Collection” is 2NE1’s debut album in Japan and includes the Japanese versions of the group’s hit songs such as, “I Am the Best,” “Ugly,” and “I Don’t Care.” The group also released their single, “Scream,” grabbing the number 14 spot on the charts.

Girl group Rainbow’s first full-length album, “Over the Rainbow,” was also released and in its first week, sold over 13,000 units and secured the 10th spot on the Oricon weekly album chart.
