"Arang and the Magistrate" to Air Special Prior to Premiere

With the premiere of “Arang and the Magistrate” looming ahead, MBC has announced that it will air a special about the series Wednesday, August 8, at 9:55PM KST. Titled “How to Enjoy ‘Arang and the Magistrate’ 100 Times More,” the special will give viewers an inside look at how the fantasy series is created, background stories about the folklore, as well as many more behind-the-scenes treats.

A representative of MBC stated, “This is our first time in five years where we decided to air a special prior to the premiere of a drama. The last was for ‘Legends (aka Taewangsashinki).’ In hopes to thank fans who have been waiting for ‘Arang and the Magistrate,’ we have decided to prepare a special episode.”

Based on a famous folklore, the fantasy drama takes place in the Joseon era. Shin Min Ah plays Arang, the daughter of the magistrate who is brutally murdered. She returns as a ghost with no recollection of her life and how she was murdered and goes around haunting every new magistrate who comes to town…that is until Eun Oh, played by Lee Jun Ki, shows up. The two eventually fall in love.

“Arang and the Magistrate” will premiere on MBC on August 15 at 9:55PM KST.
