Girls’ Generation‘s fourth full-length album “I Got a Boy” added another achievement to its list of current successes. The comeback album has hit the top of the monthly charts not only in Korea but also overseas.

According to  a statement from Girls’ Generation’s management agency, SM Entertainment, “Girls’ Generation’s fourth full-length domestic album ‘I Got a Boy’ gained some more on album sales in the last 12 days to put it on the aggregate Hanteo monthly chart top spot. The title song ‘I Got a Boy’ also skyrocketed to the top of the monthly charts of music sites such as MelOn, Naver and Olleh Music.”

In addition to its success in the Korean charts, “I Got a Boy” likewise clinched the top spot of the Korean Music Top 100 of Taiwan’s biggest online music site KKBOX.

“This album was No. 1 in US Billboard World Album Charts and was featured as well in Billboard, MTV, Rolling Stone Magazine, TIME and Fuse TV. The song was able to capture the spotlight in some of these influential media in the United States,” the statement further said.

Meanwhile, Girls’ Generation is gearing up for a Japan tour that is expected to take them to Niigata, Fukuoka, Hiroshima, Osaka and Nagoya. The tour kicks off on February 9 in Saitama.
