Comedian and TV Personality Yoo Sae Yoon Turns Himself In for a DWI

Comedian and TV personality Yoo Sae Yoon recently turned himself in for drunk driving.

On May 29 at around 4AM, comedian Yoo Sae Yoon appeared in the Kyeongki-do Goyangkyung police station and admitted that he drove while intoxicated. He admitted that he drove for about 30km (about 18.6 miles) from Seoul to Ilsan.

The police stated that Yoo Sae Yoon’s blood alcohol content came out to be 0.118 percent, which is enough to get one’s license suspended. The police also investigated if an accident occured but they reported that they did not find any trace or situation of the sort.

After returning home, Yoo Sae Yoon posted, “Let’s not be fake” on his Twitter account. Netizens gave a variety of responses, some praising Yoo Sae Yoon for his courage and others expressing surprise at such news.

However, Yoo Sae Yoon’s manager stated that he called a designated driver and sent Yoo Sae Yoon home with that driver. But this statement has not yet been confirmed, which is preventing Yoo Sae Yoon’s agency to release an official statement. His agency is still in the process of figuring out what exactly happened.

Regarding this news, MBC stated that this week’s programs with Yoo Sae Yoon have already been edited or aired such as “Radio Star” and “Knee Drop Guru.” They stated that discussions of Yoo Sae Yoon stepping down from the shows will start after the agency and celebrity figure things out.
