The quirky new variety show “Grandpas Over Flowers” helmed by ex1 Night, 2 Days” PD Na Yong Suk and featuring a band of cute grandpas will get even more time to shine with reports claiming that tvN has approved the production of a second season for the show.

Grandpas Over Flowers,” despite only having aired two episodes, has been a hit amongst viewers, with ratings at respectable levels for a cable program. Perhaps buoyed by this early success reports, tvN has already approved the production of a new season for the show. This time the team will be heading to a much closer location, Taiwan, instead of as far Europe as they did in seaon one. This is supposedly a decision made with consideration of the grandpas’ health.

The season one members comprising of Lee Soon Jae, Shin Gu, Park Geun Hyun, and Baek Il Sub will all be making another appearance in season two with their young “luggage carrier,” Lee Seo Jin, also confirmed for the new season. Reports claim that the team is in the final stages of adjusting the members’ schedules and deciding on locations. The team is expected to leave for Taiwan by the end of this month.

Season one of “Grandpas Over Flowers” has seen the crew of grandpas go on a back packing trip through the heart of Europe, starting in France and eventually moving south. It will be interesting to see if the show continues its current success with the remaining season one episodes and season two.
