Weekly K-Pop Music Chart 2013 – November Week 1

IU’s “The Red Shoes” easily repeats as No. 1 this week over SHINee’s new song “Everybody.”  “The Red Shoes” turns in another high score and just like last week, cruised to win the top spot.

Despite winning most of the networks, SHINee’s “Everybody” were behind “The Red Shoes” on most independent rankings, thus settling for No. 2.  “Everybody” is the title song of SHINee’s fifth mini-album of the same name.   It is a dance number with a catchy melody line listeners can easily hum to.  The song aims to wake up listeners’ innocence and take them into an exciting world of music.  It will again be the main contender for the top spot next week.

Besides “Everybody,” there are two other new songs in the top 10 this week.  Moving up 12 spots to No. 6 is K.Will’s latest hit “You Don’t Know Love.”  This song is coming from K.Will’s fourth mini-album “Will In Fall.”  “You Don’t Know Love” is an acoustic modern R&B number with acid jazz sounds. Listeners will be able to hear K.Will’s soft vocals.  The lyrics are about a man who cannot come to grips that his girlfriend wants to break up with him.  “You Don’t Know Love” just won on MBC Music Core this week, and will be a candidate to challenge the top two songs next week.

Moving up eight spots to No. 7 is rock band Jaurim’s new song “Twenty Five, Twenty One.”  This is the title song of Jaurim’s ninth album “Goodbye, Grief.”  Written by lead singer Kim Yoon Ah, “Twenty Five, Twenty One” is about wanting to go back in time back when they were 25 and 21. Although this isn’t possible, the narrator yearns for one’s youth.  It is the first top 10 song for Jaurim in five years.  They last did it in 2008 with “Carnival Amour.”
