“You Don’t Know Love” just narrowly won over a surprise hit from Park Ji Yoon’s “Mr. Lee,” which moves up 13 spots to No. 2. Despite only 31 years old, Park Ji Yoon has been in the music industry for 16 years, and was one of the first generation K-Pop idols. Most long time K-Pop listeners will remember Park Ji Yoon’s classic hit “Adult Ceremony” in 2000. After that, she has released many songs but was not able to duplicate the success of “Adult Ceremony.” In recent years, Park Ji Yoon is focus to become a real artist and released jazz style pop songs. “Mr. Lee” goes back to her dance roots and instantly becomes her biggest hit in many years. Written by Primary, “Mr. Lee” is about a woman who keeps lingering around a man she likes. This week it is only 12 points behind “You Don’t Know Love.” Let see if Park Ji Yoon will pick up her first No. 1 in more than a decade next week.
The only other new song in the top 10 is at No. 9. Indie trio Urban Zakapa scores their second top 10 hit with “Walking Backwards.” Written by member Jo Hyun Ah, this song is about the regrets and the longing couples feel after they split up. The slow piano melody and Urban Zakapa’s vocal depicts a feeling of loneliness. This week it moves up 17 spots to No. 9.
