2NE1's "Missing You" Continues to Show Strong Numbers, Reaches 6M MV Views
2NE1‘s “Missing You,” released on November 21, continues to show strong numbers, despite being out already for almost two weeks.
According to YG Entertainment,“Missing You” has recorded number one on iTunes’ real-time chart as well as on the daily chart.
The music video for “Missing You” also crossed the 6 million viewer mark as of December 2. The vocal harmony and dreamlike quality of the music video have no doubt contributed to the number of hits and popularity the song has received.
New songs come out every day and it’s no easy feat to keep one’s reigns on the charts. 2NE1 continued to sit on top of the charts despite strong competition from quality releases such as Hyorin’s (Sistar) solo album, Wheesung and Gummy’s duet single “Special Love,” and songs from the “Reply 1994” OST.
Rather than promoting on all four major music programs every week, 2NE1 has tended to appear on fewer shows, and relies, in part, on the addictive quality of their music to retain public interest. The sorrow of parting and deep longing are expressed through “Missing You,” capturing the essence of the winter gloom.
2NE1 is currently actively promoting their single “Missing You” and will begin their concert tour series starting next year in March, beginning from Seoul. Tour stops include China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia and Japan.
