Fans Petition for More Fan Meetings with Kim Soo Hyun, KeyEast Responds
In the midst of a flood of requests for additional fan meetings with Kim Soo Hyun, the actor’s agency revealed their position.
A KeyEast Entertainment official said in a phone call with eNews, “We’re continuing to get requests for more fan meetings with Kim Soo Hyun. While we have considered it, with Kim Soo Hyun’s schedule and venue booking problems, it is going to be difficult.”
Kim Soo Hyun will be holding his first fan meeting of his Asia tour on March 16 at Sejong University’s Deyang Hall. Tickets became available on February 27, and the 2000 tickets that were available sold out in a mere 5 minutes.
But, nothing would hold back the passionate fans of Kim Soo Hyun and “Man From the Stars.” After the tickets were sold out, illegal ticketing surfaced, and while the original price of the tickets were 33,000 won (about $31) a piece, fans posted that they would be willing to pay up to 1,000,000 won (about $930) for a single ticket. Following the high demand for tickets, fans petitioned for additional fan meetings on an online portal site. The goal was set for 1200 signatures, and in just four days, over 900 signatures were gathered.
However, as mentioned above, KeyEast related that it would be difficult, as they don’t have an appropriate venue, and Kim Soo Hyun has his schedule for the Asia tour immediately following the first fan meeting. One official said, “Of course he [Kim Soo Hyun] wants to meet with his Korean fans. He had even increased the scale of his first fan meeting from 1000 seats to 2000. But to have an additional fan meeting is not possible due to his tight schedule.”
