Kim Soo Hyun Joins Yellow Ribbon Campaign

Apart from donating 300 million won (approx. $290,000) in monetary aid to Danwon High School, Kim Soo Hyun joins the whole nation of Korea in mourning for the victims of the Sewol Ferry tragedy by participating in the yellow ribbon campaign.

Through his official website, the actor offers his prayers for the victims of the Sewol Ferry tragedy and hopes for the safe return of the survivors by posting an image of the yellow ribbon campaign with the message, “we hope our hearts reach the heavens.”

The yellow ribbon campaign is said to have originated from the time yellow ribbons were tied to trees as a symbol of hope for the fast and safe return from the battlefield. Likewise, there has been a nationwide campaign among SNS users to put the image of the yellow ribbon on their profiles in hope of the safe return of the missing persons in the Sewol Ferry tragedy.
