Lena Park Set to Release New Single Tomorrow, but Album Is Put on Hold
Singer Lena Park (also known as Park Jung Hyun) has announced that her forthcoming album, “Syncrofusion”, will be postponed indefinitely in light of the recent Sewol ferry disaster. The announcement was made through her representatives, BluePrint Music, but the agency revealed that a single, entitled “Next Year”, will be released on April 30.
The agency explained the decision, saying that the new song would be released in an effort to placate fans who have been looking forward to a new release from the singer. Followers of Lena Park have been waiting since summer 2012 for new material.
Lena Park is set to play concerts in venues around Korea, including Seoul, in the period May 9-18. According to the agency, the singer and tour managers had considered cancelling the forthcoming concerts in light of the recent tragedy, but realized that as all arrangements for the tour had already been put into place, cancellation at this point would be extremely difficult.
“Syncrofusion” has been produced by TEAM89, a collaborative effort that pairs Yoon Jong Shin and Postino.
The agency has mentioned that fans can expect orchestral elements in the new single release, the melody line of which was written by Lena Park herself. “Next Year” tells the tale of a long-term couple pledging eternal love to each other.
