So Ji Sub to Kick Off His Asia Tour in Taiwan

Actor So Ji Sub will be having his first fan meeting in Taiwan, which will be the start of his Asia tour.

His fan meeting in Taiwan will be held on June 28 at the Taiwan International Convention Center. The name of his fan meeting is “So Ji Sub First Taiwan Fan Meeting –  Sojisub 1st Asia Tour – Let’s have fun in Taiwan [sic].” After the start of his tour in Taiwan, he will be visiting Kobe, Japan on July 18, Yokohama, Japan on July 21, and Thailand on July 26. He is planning on visiting other countries for his tour, as well.

The tickets for his Taiwan fan meeting went on sale on June 1, and within three hours, they were all sold out. Right after they went on sale, the homepage froze due to the high volume of traffic from fans. Those who weren’t able to purchase tickets protested and the sponsors wrote an apologetic letter to the fans.

So Ji Sub is a popular international star who gained recognition through many dramas, such as “Glass Slippers,” “What Happened in Bali,” “I’m Sorry, I Love You,” and “Cain and Abel.” Last year, through SBS’ “Master’s Sun,” he was able to officially plan for an Asia tour as the drama was distributed in many parts of Asia. In the drama, So Ji Sub played the role of Joo Joong Won, through which he was able to show a totally different side of himself, channeling sweet, yet comedic charms that moved the hearts of many women.

Many fans have voiced their desire of wanting to meet So Ji Sub in person after watching “Master’s Sun.” In Taiwan, “Master’s Sun” was broadcasted twice as a way to support So Ji Sub, proving his popularity. Through this Asia tour, So Ji Sub is planning on repaying the support he received from his fans by communicating with the fans in person.

For this fan meeting, So Ji Sub has been preparing many surprising performances. An official involved with the tour explained that a variety of programs are currently being planned in secret and that it will be a joyful meeting.

So Ji Sub, who time and again proves his acting versatility, this time with “Master’s Sun,” continues to gain popularity all across Asia as a hallyu star.
