Idols Get Down and Dirty in Fierce Competition on "Running Man"
It’s finally here! The “Running Man” episode featuring SHINee‘s Minho, 2PM‘s Chansung, CNBLUE’s Kang Min Hyuk, B1A4‘s Jinyoung, Infinite‘s Hoya and Sunggyu, and SISTAR‘s Bora aired today, June 22, on SBS.
It was the idol team versus the “‘Running Man” team this week, battling it out on the fields. The idol team was named the “City Idols” while the Running Man team was named the “Farm Idols.” Each team member named the person on the other team whom they will be in charge of, matched at their level of skill and ability, or because of any other silly reason. Chansung was matched with Ji Suk Jin because of his big nose. Haha was matched to Sunggyu, Gary was matched with Jinyoung, Hoya was matched with Kim Jong Kook, and Yoo Jae Suk matched himself to Minho, claiming that Minho is similar to when Yoo Jae Suk was young- not looks but competitive spirit. Kang Min Hyuk was almost paired to Lee Kwang Soo, but Yoo Jae Suk denied that, saying there was no one who can match to such a low level as Lee Kwang Soo.
From relay races and Gossaum Nori in muddy fields, to carry fields, finding ginseng and catching loach, everyone had to literally get down and dirty to win the games in this week’s “Running Man.”
One game took everyone to an elementary school, where each team had to find mini basketballs and score into tiny baskets around school in order to take someone out of the game. It wasn’t much competition for the “City Idols” as Minho showed off some awesome basketball skills.
Sunggyu and Jinyoung, in particular, drew a lot of laughs throughout the show by falling, slipping, and generally losing without much a fight against the other team. Sunggyu in the beginning of the show had a lot of confidence, saying he was doing cross fit training these days. When Yoo Jae Suk found out Sunggyu has only been training for a month so far, he laughed, knowing Sunggyu’s bad luck in these types of physical competitions in the past.
Next week’s “Running Man” features A Pink’s Son Naeun and Yoon Bomi, pool player Cha Yoo Ram, TV personality Sam Okyere, Fabian, comedian Heo Kyung Hwan, and actors Baek Sung Hyun, Joo Ji Hoon, and Ji Sung.
