Tang Wei and Director Kim Tae Yong Tie the Knot Secretly in Sweden

Actress Tang Wei and Director Kim Tae Yong have decided to tie the knot in a secret and intimate ceremony in Sweden on July 13.

Unlike the luxurious and grand wedding ceremony that is expected of personalities of their stature, the two very private couple chose to have a very simple ceremony in a farm in Sweden and said their wedding vows in a small get-together.

Tang Wei and Director Kim Tae Yong went all the way to the small Baltic Sea island of Fårö at Sweden’s southeastern coast to hold the ceremony. Inviting only the owner of the farm and a few people, the couple had a very solemn wedding ceremony.

Swedish artists sang the congratulatory song for the couple. Based on a Twitter post, Andreas Kleerup played the guitar while the person who tweeted the photo, Jonas Holmberg, sang. Kleerup is from the Swedish group “The Meat Boys.”

The secret wedding ceremony has been unraveled on July 22 when Dispatch confirmed the information at the SK-II media conference wherein Tang Wei was present. Tang Wei, who was congratulated by Cate Blanchett, said to the actress, “We already had our wedding in Sweden.”

This was further confirmed by the tweet of Jonas Holmberg who was one of the people present during the wedding ceremony. Holmberg said on his Twitter post, “Andreas played the congratulatory song for the wedding of Tang Wei and Kim Tae Yong in a barn in Fårö.” Although the couple cannot be seen in the photo, it can be assumed that they didn’t want to be included in the photo of the secret wedding.

It was known that Tang Wei and Kim Tae Yong had their honeymoon in the island as well. At an event on June 28, Tang Wei was quoted saying, “I have plans to go on a trip to Fårö, Sweden, a place that I have always wanted to go to. I want to appreciate Mother Nature in that place as much as I can.”

Meanwhile, Director Kim Tae Yong still has not filed their marriage in Korea. After leaving for China on July 2, the director still hasn’t returned to Korea. Even after the wedding in Sweden, Director Kim Tae Yong continued to stay in Beijing so there’s still a possibility of the couple having their wedding ceremony again in China or Korea.

The couple was reportedly seen today, July 24, in Sydney, Australia.

Director Kim Tae Yong and actress Tang Wei first met in 2011 through the movie “Late Autumn.” From being mere colleagues, the two have become lovers in October last year.
