SHINee’s Taemin Talks Self-Admiration, Trouble with Fashion, and Current Weight
SHINee’s Taemin, who recently debuted as a solo artist, confessed that getting dressed up for work is difficult.
On August 20, Taemin appeared on KBS Cool FM’s “Lee Sora’s Music Plaza,” where he talked about Minho being a “one outfit gentlemen.”
During this recording, DJ Lee Sora said, “Last time, Minho revealed that he’s a one outfit gentlemen.” She asked, “Does he wear the same clothes for a couple of days?” Taemin answered, “He doesn’t wear the same clothes continuously. I wear the same outfit after washing it but I think he wears the same one after the third outfit. I think people started calling him that because he mostly has sportswear.”
Lee Sora said, “Girls don’t really like it when guys focus too much on their outfit,” at which Taemin replied thankfully, “You’re the first person that has said something like that. It’s really nice. Recently, there’s the ‘going to work fashion.’ There are pictures of me online and the members tell me that I should care more about what I wear. Honestly, if I’m not wearing any sportswear, it means I did take the time to pick out an outfit, but I still don’t know what I should wear.”
Afterwards, he revealed how he experienced self-admiration when he looked at himself in the mirror after taking a shower.
He said, “When I look at myself in the mirror after taking a shower, I think that I look good.”
Taemin continued, “I think all the guys would be like that. After taking a shower or a bath, when they look at themselves in the mirror, they think they look good. Guys often delude themselves.” This response created some laughter in the studio.
Taemin also revealed that his current weight is 57kg (126lbs) after having lost some weight recently. He is usually around 60kg, Taemin added, explaining he weighs more than what he appears to be because he has a lot of hidden poundage.
Meanwhile, Taemin released his first mini album, “Ace,” on August 18. The title song, “Danger,” has a strong, synth bass with a blend of unique percussion. It’s a dance song that with an electro swing feel. Thomas Troelsen, who made BoA’s “Eat You Up,” TVXQ’s “Mirotic,” and the theme song for the 2014 Brazil World Cup, participated in the production of the song. “Danger” is a song about becoming a thief and stealing the heart of a woman who has a wall around her.
