Dispatch Provides Evidence to Question the Truth of Keyeast's Statement Regarding Kim Hyun Joong, Agency Responds

Local news agency Dispatch released a report today that casts doubts to Keyeast‘s official statement regarding its artist Kim Hyun Joong‘s claims. On August 22 local time, Dispatch reported that singer and actor Kim Hyun Joong has been charged for alleged assault and battery. It reported that Kim Hyun Joong’s girlfriend “A,” whom he has been dating for two years, pressed criminal charges against the star for repeated instances of assault and battery between May and July of this year.

The following day, Keyeast, Kim Hyun Joong’s management agency, released an official statement that denied claims of repeated assault and battery as well as other claims made by “A” regarding the length of the relationship and how her recent injury came to be. Read about it here.

Dispatch released another report today, August 25 local time, that went over Keyeast’s official statement point by point to cast doubt on Kim Hyun Joong’s claims. It had obtained photos of “A” and Kim Hyun Joong from 2012, throwing into question Keyeast’s statement that Kim Hyun Joong had only started to date “A” for a couple of months, after knowing her for two years. Dispatch’s photo shows “A” and Kim Hyun Joong looking close both in 2012 and 2014. See photos here. Dispatch also obtained text messages between “A” and Kim Hyun Joong from 2013 that seemingly supports the claim that the two were romantically involved for a long time. In texts from 2013, Kim Hyun Joong had written to “A,” referring to himself as “oppa”: “Don’t break up with oppa,” “I love you,” “Do you want to live with oppa?” In 2014, Kim Hyun Joong reportedly also sent the text, “I am sorry. I hope you find the two years that you lost. This is my truth.”

Dispatch also brought counter-evidence against Keyeast’s description of the physical encounter between Kim Hyun Joong and “A” as just a playful accident. Dispatch wrote that “A” and Kim Hyun Joong started arguing over the star’s relationships with other women. “A” had wanted to break up and Kim Hyun Joong became angry. According to Dispatch, “A” said it was a one-sided physical attack by Kim Hyun Joong. Dispatch also presented a text reportedly sent by Kim Hyun Joong to “A” after the  physical encounter. Kim Hyun Joong had texted, “I don’t know why I did that when I would be sorry in less than a day. I hope you recover quickly from the bruising and pain. I am truly sorry.”

Dispatch also pointed out the difference between claims by “A” and claims by Kim Hyun Joong on how many times physical altercations occurred. “A” claimed it was habitual, while Kim Hyun Joong also named one. “A” named three times it occurred between May and July. Dispatch writes that “A” has submitted the injury certificates to the police to prove her claims.

Dispatch also questions how “just playing around,” which is how Keyeast described the physical encounter between “A” and Kim Hyun Joong, could result in such a serious injury for “A” — a fractured rib requiring a six-week recovery.

In response to this report by Dispatch, a representative from Keyeast told another local news agency Osen, “Through police investigation, the truth will clearly be revealed,” affirming the company’s original stance. The rep added, “In order for this issue to be resolved quickly, [Kim Hyun Joong] will fully cooperate with the police investigations as soon as he returns from Thailand.” Kim Hyun Joong had left for Thailand on August 23 for his concert in Bangkok. He is expected to return today.
