Epik High, BIGBANG, 2NE1, and WINNER Bring Fun and Laughs to Singapore for YG Family Tour

YG Family artists Epik High, BIGBANG, 2NE1, and WINNER came together to meet the media on Friday evening for “YG Family 2014 Galaxy Tour: Power in Singapore” press conference. This is the first time that a YG Family concert is being held in Singapore and also Epik High’s and WINNER’s first time to visit this sunny island.

Just before the start of the press conference, the emcee announced that BIGBANG’s member Seungri will not be participating in the 2-day concerts due to a car accident in the early hours of September 12. However, she assured the media that Seungri is recovering well in the hospital.

Pre-screened questions from the media were fielded entirely by the emcee. Compared to their seniors, YG’s rookie group, Winners was more nervous during the press conference. Their silly poses during the final photo-call, the lively chemistry and interaction between the talented YG Family artistes was clearly visible.

Daesung joked when asked which food or dish they like to try in food paradise Singapore. “The last time we were here for our tour, we had a lot of pepper crab and chili crab so we went home walking sideways.”

Daesung’s quirky answer sent Tablo and G-Dragon into laughing fits.

T.O.P says “We are inspired by WINNER. I don’t have a special reason for WINNER being our inspiration. They inspire us just because they are winners and we would also like to work with 2NE1 and Epik High.” When BIGBANG was asked which artists in YG inspires them and who will they like to work with, T.O.P was careful to mention all the YG artists present; however, we could clearly see the other artistes chuckling away.

DJ Tukutz responded to a question on the style and genre of their next album: “It’s a secret. We don’t want to spoil things by revealing too much today but we promise that we will be meeting you soon with a great project. One thing for sure, it’s going to be amazing.”

Tablo spoke in fluent: “I like heat, I like the sun.” when the emcee commented that they will like the warm weather in Singapore.

Taeyang when asked about performing with YG Family: “I am very happy with it. We have done concerts before but have never been on a tour together, especially with new group such as WINNER. And, we have never performed with Epik High before, so I’m sure we can show a good variety of music and performance as well.”

When asked what has been their most memorable moment since their debut, WINNER’s leader Kang Seung Yoon said: “This would be the most memorable moment. To be with our seniors here in Singapore is very special for us, and I’m sure this will be very memorable.” On hearing this, G-Dragon turned around and snapped a picture of  of Kang Seung Yoon.

When asked who Epik High wants to collaborate with? Tablo replied, “Without a doubt, the boss of YG, Yang Hyun Suk. We would like to do a collaboration with him. It would be a rap and dance collaboration.”

What other projects would each member of 2NE1 love to take up? Dara said “I have always liked to try acting like T.O.P and be in movies”, and was immediately challenged by T.O.P to do a crying scene on the spot. But Dara quipped that she would like to try a kissing scene with fellow label mate Mithra Jin and show them the next time.
