Kim Soo Hyun, “My Love from the Stars” Bag Awards at 2014 Tokyo Drama Awards
On October 23, Kim Soo Hyun attended the 2014 Tokyo Drama Awards, which is connected to the 27th annual Tokyo International Film Festival, wherein he was awarded as “Best Actor in Asia” in the special foreign drama category. Kim Soo Hyun won the award for his portrayal of the alien Do Min Joon in the SBS drama “My Love from the Stars.”
The drama itself also garnered the “Special Foreign Drama Award,” making it a double win for “My Love from the Stars.”
“My Love from the Stars” is a fantasy romance drama about Do Min Joon (Kim Soo Hyun), an alien who arrives on Earth and falls in love with Cheon Song Yi (Jun Ji Hyun), a top actress with a peculiar personality whom he met 400 years later. The chemistry between Kim Soo Hyun and Jun Ji Hyun was very effective and it reflected in the drama that has gained great popularity all across Asia.
Both Kim Soo Hyun and Jun Ji Hyun received recognition for their performance in the drama as the two actors won awards from different award-giving bodies.
Jun Ji Hyun won the Grand Prize for TV at the 50th Baeksang Arts Awardd and was recognized as “Best Actress” at the 41st Korea Broadcasting Awards.
Kim Soo Hyun has also been awarded the “Grand Prize” and the “Hallyu Star Award” at the 7th Korea Drama Awards, “Most Popular Actor” at the 50th Baeksang Arts Awards, “Outstanding Korean Actor” and “People’s Choice Actor” at the 9th Seoul International Drama Awards.
“My Love from the Stars” has also been recognized to be the best Korean drama of the year at the 9th Seoul International Drama Awards, 7th Korea Drama Awards, and the 20th Shanghai Television Festival Magnolia Awards.
