TV Personality Woo Ji Won to Be Questioned by Police for Possible Domestic Abuse

TV personality and former basketball star Woo Ji Won has been accused for domestic violence from his wife, and will be questioned by the police sometime soon.

On October 25, after a drunken feud, Woo Ji Won’s wife called the police and reported a domestic abuse case. She claimed that he pushed her and threw a fan during a heated argument. They found no traces of physical injuries on her body.

Woo Ji Won has publicly apologized for the happening through his Twitter, where he posted his side of the story.

“This is Woo Ji Won. Firstly, I’m sorry that I’ve caused a concern to many of you. I am writing now to reveal the truth without any lies.

“[My wife and I] started drinking that night after the suggestion of my wife, and my wife kept using provoking language while drinking. Our daughter even said, ‘Mom, stop it!’ but she continued to speak in that manner. I lost my temper and ended up throwing the fan onto the floor.

“I then went into the bedroom and fell asleep. While I was asleep, my wife called the police and I was arrested. We were both drunk, so our judgement wasn’t the best. Everything is okay now and we are both regretful of our actions. But it’s definitely my mistake that I threw the fan.”

He concluded his apology by saying, “I have done something I shouldn’t have as a public figure. I am once again apologizing for my actions.”

The police announced on October 27 that they will be questioning Woo Ji Won again in the near future, as on the night of the event, he was too drunk to be coherent.
