"Infinity Challenge" Announces Finalized Artist Line-up For "Saturday Saturday Is a Singer" Special
“Infinity Challenge” revealed the finalized artist line-up for “Saturday Saturday Is a Singer.”
On December 18, MBC officially announced that Kim Gun Mo, Kim Hyun Jung, Jo Sung Mo, Jinusean, Cool, Turbo, Uhm Jung Hwa, and S.E.S will all make appearances on the “I Am a Singer” parody, along with special MC Lee Bon. Noticeably, singer Lee Hyori who many were looking forward to seeing on the show was not included in the line-up.
“Saturday Saturday Is a Singer” will feature the top artists and groups of the 1990s, the decade when K-Pop was born. As legendary as the artists and groups are, the process of getting them on one stage was even more difficult. “Infinity Challenge” cast members proactively paid visits to the stars’ homes and recording studios to invite them to the show.
It was hard enough to coordinate the various schedules of the artists, especially in Uhm Jung Hwa’s case, whose schedule was very tight due to ongoing filming for her upcoming movie. Because of how busy she was, it was uncertain whether Uhm Jung Hwa would be able to do the show, but she was recently confirmed to collaborate with Jinusean for a performance of “Tell Me.”
In S.E.S.’s case, member Eugene was unable to participate due to her pregnancy, but SM Entertainment hoobae, Girls’ Generation’s Seohyun, will be filling in for her.
The “Saturday Saturday Is a Singer” special of MBC’s “Infinity Challenge” will be held in Ilsan at the MBC Dream Center on December 18.
