Park Jin Young Wrote Uhm Jung Hwa’s Hit Song While Drinking Soju

Park Jin Young wrote on his personal Twitter to praise Uhm Jung Hwa after watching her performance on “Infinity Challenge” and to talk about the process of writing one of the songs she performed on the show.

Uhm Jung Hwa performed on the “Infinity Challenge” special “Saturday Saturday Is a Singer,” which featured 90’s legends performing their old hits. She performed “Invitation” and “Poison,” two of her hit songs from the 90’s. The song “Invitation,” released in 1998, was written and composed by Park Jin Young and was popular for its sensual yet dreamy vibe.

After watching her perform, Park Jin Young tweeted, “Jung Hwa, I watched you perform ‘Invitation’ on ‘Saturday Saturday Is a Singer’ and you are truly Uhm Jung Hwa,” conveying that she lived up to her reputation as a sexy diva.

He continued by sharing the surprising story of how the song was written. “We were drinking soju together in a shabby restaurant when we got the ‘feel’ and just came up with the song. When I think that I used to write songs that way, it seems so romantic,” said Park Jin Young.
