Highlights:

After one week off, the Public Safety Team is back! Although they caught the criminal behind the murder of Han Byeol, they still have a lot of work to do—after all, the world has a seemingly unlimited supply of corruption and criminality. It’s depressing how realistic the world of “Pride and Prejudice” feels—we can only hope that the real world has its own Public Safety Team, to protect the innocent from the schemes of the powerful.

These were my five favorite scenes in “Pride and Prejudice” episodes 18 and 19:

1. Dong Chi talks with his father

Of course, there’s a lot more to the death of White Bear than either Dong Chi or his father knows, but this scene was still lovely. Even though the two live separate lives, the love between them is still incredibly strong, and I was as moved as Dong Chi is that his father would try to take sole credit for White Bear’s death.

2. Prosecutor Lee does a great Moon Hee Man impression

I don’t know what I’d do without Prosecutor Lee. He brings levity and fun to every episode of this drama, and it turns out he’s an impression artist to boot! What a treasure he is.

3. Dong Chi wants to work together with Moon Hee Man

This is what I love about Dong Chi: he has this façade of snarky coolness, but in actuality he’s a bleeding-heart idealist who just wants to do the right thing. So I loved this scene, where he tries to convince the Chief to work together with him to find out what really happened the night White Bear died, even though the Chief still hasn’t established whose side he’s on. I find it so sweet that Dong Chi needs to believe that Moon Hee Man cares about justice as much as he does.

4. The ace of the Public Safety Team

I don’t know what I find more hilarious: the way that the entire Public Safety team has to butter up Prosecutor Lee and call him their ace in order to get him to actually do work, or the fact that when all’s said and done, the only reason he’s even slightly effective at his job is because he works with Investigator Yoo. Whichever it is, this scene was still wonderfully amusing.

5. Kang Soo misses Chang Gi

Kang Soo has fallen towards the background in recent episodes, but this scene, in which he discusses his emotional state with his grandmother, was very touching. It feels very realistic to me that the main sadness he feels in the aftermath of discovering his history has nothing to do with his dead mother, who he still doesn’t remember. Rather, he misses the drunk ajusshi who was always a part of his life, who has now transformed into another person.
