Top Producers and SHINee's Jonghyun Contribute to EXO's Comeback Album "EXODUS"
On March 26, SM Entertainment stated, “EXO‘s second album ‘EXODUS‘ will be released online on Melon, Genie, Naver Music, and other music sites, as well as off-line, on March 30, at noon.
According to SM Entertainment, global producers and songwriters met at SM Songwriting Camp to produce songs for EXO. People who attended include: The Underdogs, Teddy Riley, Stereotypes, Kenzie, and other top-class producers. SHINee‘s Jonghyun also took part as a songwriter, creating a total of ten tracks that reflect EXO’s unique style of music.
The title song, “Call Me Baby” has an addictive hook and melody, coupled with witty lyrics that make the song pop. A strong beat, brass, and strings come together to complete the song. Stereotypes and Kenzie collaborated for the first time to create the R&B track “Transformer.”The Underdogs’ R&B ballad song “What If…” is also very much anticipated.
SHINee’s Jonghyun wrote the song “Playboy,” which is about a chic and cold playboy.
Also included in the album is the charming ballad song “My Answer,” which is about a guy who only looks at one girl, and the dance song “Exodus” tells a story of a guy who wants to stop falling for a certain girl.
Back in 2012 when EXO made their debut, a small part of “El Dorado” and “Beautiful” was mixed into their individual teasers. Now, the full versions of these two songs will also be included in their upcoming album along with “Hurt” and “Lady Luck“.
EXO will start their promotions with Mnet’s “M!Countdown” on April 2, KBS2‘s “Music Bank” on April 3, MBC‘s “Music Core” on April 4, SBS‘s “Inkigayo” on April 5, plus other various music programs.
Before their comeback, EXO has been releasing individual member teasers, of which Lay‘s was the latest. You can check it out here.
