Lee Jun Ki Confirmed as Male Lead for Vampire Drama

Actor Lee Jun Ki has been confirmed for MBC‘s new Wednesday/Thursday drama, “The Scholar Who Walks the Night.”

On April 2, Lee Jun Ki’s management company Namoo Actors said, “Lee Jun Ki has been offered the male lead role for ‘The Scholar Who Walks the Night,’ which is set to air in July, and has confirmed his casting.”

Lee Jun Ki will play a beautiful and seductive vampire scholar named Kim Sung Yeol in this historical drama set in the Joseon Dynasty.

“The Scholar Who Walks the Night” is a drama based on the popular webtoon by the same name. Due to Lee Jun Ki’s success with acting in historical dramas, he has been discussed as one of the first choices for the drama since the beginning.

Meanwhile, Jin Se Yeon is still in talks for the drama after being offered the female lead role. Should she accept, she will play a nobleman’s daughter who cross-dresses as a man to sell books, and meets a vampire scholar. TVXQ‘s Changmin is also in talks for the drama. While some sources have confirmed his casting, still others state that the idol is still looking the role over.
