CL Renews Solo Contract with YG a Year Ahead of 2NE1 Members

Ahead of her solo debut in the United States, CL of girl group 2NE1 has renewed her solo contract with label YG Entertainment.

According to OSEN on April 4, a representative from YG Entertainment shared that CL will be renewing her solo contract ahead of the other 2NE1 members, whose contracts are valid for approximately another year, in order to ensure strong management support for her U.S. debut.

Meanwhile, CL has been making splashes in the United States even before her imminent debut, most recently with a surprise appearance at “Ultra Music Festival” in Miami during Skrillex’s set with Puff Daddy and Diplo. CL also continues to dominate the “TIME 100: The Most Influential People in the World in 2015” reader’s poll, on which she is this year’s only South Korean nominee.
