EXID's Hani Moved to Tears by Bandmate Solji's Performance on "Mask King"

EXID‘s power vocalist Solji moved her fellow bandmate Hani to tears with her amazing performance on “Mask King.”

On April 5, Solji graced the opening stage for MBC‘s new variety show “Mask King” as the winner of the pilot episode that was aired February 18. After spending 10 years as an unknown, she finally got the recognition she deserved as a vocalist, and she left a heartfelt message, saying, “I realized that my time spent singing for such a long time wasn’t wasted. Thank you so much.”

Solji sang “Maria” for the opening stage for the show, and Hani, who was present as a member of the judge panel, shed tears, knowing how much her bandmate, leader, and friend had to go through to be recognized like that.

When Hani wouldn’t stop crying, Solji also teared up and said, “Hani, don’t cry,” revealing their close friendship with one another.

Meanwhile, the premise of “Mask King” is that vocalists, famous or not, will have equal chance to prove themselves as extraordinary singers. Eight singers will go on stage with masks on and will be judged on their voices alone without being biased by their looks. The show takes the format of a tournament survival program. It airs every Sunday.
