Despite its star-studded cast, the first episode of the new show “Fluttering India,” which aired on April 10, only managed to attract 2.8 percent of nationwide viewers.

This comes after projections that there would be a ratings battle between “Fluttering India” and the travel show “Grandpas Over Flowers, which would be airing at the same time on another channel. Some noted that the two shows were similar because of their travel themes, although representatives of “Fluttering India” denied that the show was about travel.

It appears that “Grandpas Over Flowers” won the ratings war, as the average rating for its April 10 episode was 9 percent.

On “Fluttering India,” Super Junior‘s Kyuhyun, SHINee‘s Minho, CNBLUE‘s Jonghyun, INFINITE‘s Sungkyu, and EXO‘s Suho transform into journalists to report on the country and discover why the “Korean wave” has yet to touch India.

In response to its first episode, critics say that although the focus was claimed to be on reporting stories about India, the program felt more like a travel show. However, some concede that this was likely inevitable as they had just arrived in India, and the members were having to figure out how to get around. Some have noted that it was also natural that they would be focusing on India’s sights and food at this stage.

But the more important question is: What did you think of the first episode of “Fluttering India”?
