Yoo Byung Jae Discusses How Joining YG Entertainment Changed Him

How does Yoo Byung Jae feel about becoming part of one of the biggest entertainment agencies in Korean entertainment?

Writer and TV personality Yoo Byung Jae, who made his name through “Saturday Night Live- Korea,” was recently recruited in YG Entertainment, home to likes of K-pop star BIGBANG and veteran actor Cha Seung Won. Generally regarded as a B-list celebrity, YG Entertainment’s decision to house Yoo Byung Jae was very unexpected and surprising to many in the industry, as well as his fans.

While recording as a guest on the KBS Thursday night talk show “Happy Together,” Yoo Byung Jae was asked if he had lost his B-list mentality, which is part of his TV image, after becoming part of YG Entertainment. He replied, “I think so. It’s inevitable. It would be a lie to say that I am still a B-lister and that I am poor.” (Read more about YG’s perks for Yoo Byung Jae here.) His truthful answer is said to have made everyone there on the set feel the charm of his honest personality.

Yoo Byung Jae, who rose to even more fame after appearing as a candidate to join MBC’s “Infinity Challenge” team as the “Sixth Man,” was asked by MC Park Mi Sun which he liked better: becoming part of YG or being one of the “sixth man” candidates? Yoo Byung Jae once again truthfully said, “I haven’t watched ‘Infinity Challenge’ after that so I don’t know,” half-joking implying some left over resentment for not being picked to be a part of “Infinity Challenge” in the end. It’s honesty like this that makes him more appealing to the members of “Happy Together” on that day of the recording, according to a press release by the show.

This episode of “Happy Together” also boasts guests Son Ho Joon, Im Won Hee, Kim Dong Wook, and Kim Poong. It will air on KBS, June 25, at 10 p.m. KST.
