AOA’s Jimin Reveals What She Thought About Other Members During Auditions
AOA appeared on this week’s episode of “Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook,” and during filming for the show they talked about how they auditioned for the group and showed off some of their talents.
The episode is, as usual, jam-packed with performances and interviews, and it seems that therefore much of the interview had to be edited out. However, an article on the Korean news site Asia Today reveals that during the show’s filming, AOA’s Jimin shared what she thought about the other members as she was watching them audition.
According to the report, Jimin said, “I spent four years as a trainee, and so I watched all the other members audition.”
She went on to share that Mina is the member that she remembers the most from their auditions. “I thought ‘She’s pretty, I hope she makes it,’ and then the next day she was in,” she said, but then joked, “But she was prettier on screen.”
Mina was working as a model at a shopping mall at the time, and so she showed off her posing skills at her audition. During the filming of “Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook,” she demonstrated some poses that were great for selling clothes.
In addition, Jimin chose Hyejeong as the member that she didn’t expect would be chosen during their audition period. “She’s taller than the other members, so I worried that she wouldn’t fit,” she explains.
It was then revealed that Hyejeong won a national cheerleading competition in high school. She went on to surprise everyoneby showing off some of her cheerleading moves to AOA’s “Like a Cat.”
It’s also said that AOA’s Yuna performed Kelly Clarkson‘s “If No One Will Listen” while playing the piano during her audition, and so she reenacted the scene for the audience at “Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook.”
